I am running both win xp and vista (using vista now) on the same computer. To do this
1. Install XP (if havent already)
2. Partition you drive (recommend using paragon partition manager)
a. Before you do this DEFRAG YOUR HARD-DRIVE!.
3. Install windows vista while inside XP
4. If needed modify the boot order
5. Done!
*NOTE: Windows XP needs to be installed first, if you install vista then XP you computer will just boot into XP without the option of Vista
I use Vaio laptop with preinstalled Vista and have only recovery disc (No Vista installation CD)
i can't install Vista while booted in XP
Is there other way to install both OS?
Hi,
My laptop has a vista basic edition which came along with the system. There is no vista boot disk.
I made partitions using disk management and want to install XP in one of the partitions. But when i run my XP boot disk it says that "setup cannot find any hard drives installed on your system" and quits installation. Please guide me how to tackle this.
I have a 3.06GHz processor and 1GB RAM and 256 VGA Card.....
i installed Vista and it's working perfectly but i want to Install XP with it because Games arent working so well with Vista.....Do you think it's Suitable for my PC or it's just going to be so Slow ?
It won't work because Vista won't let you install it ! I've tried numerous ways and nothing . When ever I put the cd in for the install the option to install it is grayed out. All it shows is the compatibility mode and help options . Does anyone out there have a solution for removing Vista from an HP computer with a sata drive ?
Yes

It will be ok
If Windows Vista works well there is no reason why Windows XP won't work. Go ahead and install it. Everything will be just fine.

Its not a big deal.
Install XP in one drive.
Reboot with Vista Bootable CD
Install Vista in another Drive.
That's it.
When Vista finishes installation you will see a OS choice menu at startup.
Hope that helps.
