I had an HP PSC 2210 all-in-one, USB, attached to my Windows Vista box. I recently replaced it with an HP Photosmart printer. In both cases - after restarting the computer for whatever reason - the system goes through the whole 'reinstalling the printer' process. This happens every time I boot, or reboot, the computer. I have the latest drivers from HP. Anyone got a clue as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance.
Maybe....
I don't know if you will find the help you need on our site. Maybe it would be better if you would go to the HP - Windows Vista support pages or to their support forums.
I don't know the cause of your problem but you could try to uninstall the drivers and then install them by following the instructions "to the letter".
I had problems on Windows XP with some HP printers because I plugged the printer in the PC before the installation requested me to do that, so the drivers did not get installed properly.
hp printers and vista
I had the same problem. My USB was not being recognized. They had me do a download of a full installation for the new version of Vista. Make sure you input the make and model of your printer to see if it is compatable. Good luck!!
HP Constant Printer Installation
I've recently noticed that Vista constantly tries to update drivers for my HP OfficeJet 6310 printer. My computer was purchased with Vista installed and has plenty of power. I don't understand why it keeps trying to install the printer driver. I've seen it several times a day and each time everything gets installed successfully. It also creates copy of printers in my control panel/printers folder. Has anyone seen this?
