Web browser page shuts down after installation of Java and Active X apps

I just set-up my spanky new Vists computer last night and I went to some of my favourite web pages. Some of them reaquired installing different apps like Active x and Java. Now when i try to go to them, the web browser page shuts down with no explanation. Can anyone help. Is it some sort of security setting issue as I'm using Norton 360.

Thanks

Java download

You will need to download and install Java from here.
As for ActiveX, you will need to allow them to install from IE.

I'm just curios, what are the sites that require you to install an ActiveX?

I believe the site was CBS

I believe the site was CBS Sportsline that asked me to install an Active X file.

How do you let your computer

How do you let your computer install activex?? I am trying to do fantasy drafts and my security/firewall wont allow me to download the necessary program (java or activex).

What do I need to do?
