pop 3 issues

when i want to send a link or sometimes a forward...vista goes into a diff email form..after attaching or whatever..it says "host cant be found" and something about pop3. I have a msn account..but this comes up on certain things. Do i need what u call a gmail account also?

Questions
What e-mail client are you using to access your MSN e-mail account?
And when you say that "vista goes into a diff email form", does it mean it launches another application then the one you generally use as an e-mail client?
