cant uninstall windows vista-- cant install xp

got hp laptop with vista preinstalled. wish to delete it and install a fresh copy windows xp.

created 3 partitions in all c(93gb--Primary), d(28),e(28).
changed the bios setting to bot from dvd drive. now when i load xp cd it doesn't boot from it though it is a bootable cd. pls help...

I bought new hp DV 6703 tx laptop with preinstalled vista Home Premium.I want to install XP and remove Vista.When i boot from XP CD it loads files and after some time gives error Hard Disk Not Found.
Please give me solution to install XP

there is a option in bios setting which locks your hard drive and thats why you are not able to install the xp. please look that option in BIOS and unlock your hard drive first then you will be able to install the xp. but my dear frend pls tell me that from where you will get the drivers for xp?

i got the same problem

i got the same problem in my HP dv6799ee, so please give us clear information about how to change the lucking from the bios?
and about the drivers for your laptop for windows xp , you can get it from hp website " drivers " and then chose for your modle of the laptop after that you chose which windows is it .
thats all what i got , hope you give me more information from you.
