Acquiring SP1 Through Windows Update
Howdy --
To this day, I still haven't been offered Service Pack 1 through the Windows Update feature. I thought about getting it directly from the Microsoft site, but they "strongly recommend" that folks like myself {PC-boobs} wait for it to arrive via Windows Update automated delivery. All right, no problem ... but as I said, it still hasn't come. Doesn't this seem like a rather long while? Has anyone else experienced such a lengthy delay?

Lack of Drivers
One of the reasons might be that you have a system component with drivers which do not work on Windows Vista SP1. I had similar problems with an older Creative sound card.
