Geforce 7600GT Display Card problems

I have successfully installed my Geforce 7600GT graphic card drivers from Windows Update. I have often had a temporary black screen, then with a message on the system tray: Geforce 7600GT blah blah blah has recovered from an error. If anyone could help me fix this problem thanks a lot.

Unfortunately this error happens pretty often if you have an nVidia graphics card and Windows Vista.
That is because the drivers still have bugs and need lots of improvements.
Like other companies, nVidia is rather slow in releasing proper drivers for Windows Vista.

7600 GT is damn good to me

i am extremely happy with my 7600 GT pci-e 256mb. performance is maintained at an extraordinary level.

INSTALL THE RIGHT DRIVERS NEVER USE WINDOWS DEFAULTs

you should download and install drivers from nvidia website
the drivers that windows installs while you install windows (any windows no matter which one) are never suitable for games, only nvidia forceware drivers from nvidia website are suitable for games

the same applys for ATI graphic cards and catalys drivers from ATI website, they are the only suited for playing 3d games with any ati board

I had the same problem

I fixed it by going into the NVIDIA control panel (in the Vista Control Panels) and, under "Adjust image settings with preview" clicked the "Use my preferences emphasizing:" radio button, and slid the slider to anything but max "performance".
