"Final" Creative sound card drivers for Windows Vista

In the last few days Creative quietly released new versions of their Windows Vista drivers for their line of sound cards. We rushed to the download page and installed the new versions. After testing the drivers on our Audigy 2 ZS sound cards and reading the release notes we noticed that there is little improvement compared to the old beta versions.
Plenty of issues remained unsolved, some of which are acknowledged by Creative:
* Applications from the original Sound Blaster Audigy CD will not work with this download.
* Users are advised to use Audio Console included in this download to change speaker configurations.
* This driver does not support the following:
o Decoding of Dolby® Digital and DTS™ signals
o DVD-Audio
o DirectSound®-based EAX games
o Gameports
o 6.1 speaker mode.
* SPDIF passthrough is supported on Vista 32-bit only.
Unfortunately the quality of these drivers deserves the tag "beta" and not "final". On the support forums lots of people report problems and are pretty upset with the situation.

You won't find the Creative drivers here. Instead go to the Creative Worldwide support page.
lack of drivers
I dont think Vista has a lack of drivers but the manufactures of the hardware show lack of support of their product for not supplying drivers for the new opperating system. :-( I love Vista and media centre but I dont like creative for not having an update for my sound card.
Creative Sucks....
sdgI think its the time when people should dump creative products and move onto some other products like Razer Barracuda AC-1 7.1Gaming Soundcard. When creative is not supplying any support, whats the use of buying their products. I think people should sue creative for this.

Do you have a sound card and when you installed Windows Vista you have no sound?
In this case you should go to the sound card manufacturer's web page, download the Windows Vista drivers for it and then install those drivers.
Don't waster your money
Don't waster your money going to Razer. They can't get drivers for their cards either.

ive got windows vista and i think i accidentally uninstalled the soundcard for it what should i do? can i install it again? and how exactly do soundcards work do u need to download a driver and then buy a soundcard??

I have a Diamond multimedia monster sound card MX300, I really need the drivers for the card as switched over to vista as end date for xp looms, but cant find any anywhere??? going round and round this dam internet with no answers!! been on main site but no help etc!!

Hahahahaha!!! we have been had again people!!! Creative has already said they WILL NOT provide better drivers for the Audigy and Live! series of soundcards! they are considered to be "end-of-life" meaning very little support is forthcoming if any. And as all of you know the better creative soundcards came with the Livedrive component. No longer is this the case! you now have to purchase the Livedrive component separately. Way to go, Creative! I recently purchased a Dell with Vista and quickly decided this wasnt for me. Reformatted hard drive and installed Xp media center edition, located all the necessary drivers and and enjoying my Audigy ZS Platinum!!!
