System Restore

Over the last 2 weeks I have tried 6 or 7 times to get a "System Restore" these attempts were made on different days, each time I got this error message:
System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files & settings were not changed.
Details:
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore.
Is there any help out there?
