Yesterday we were very surprised to receive the following e-mail:

"From: [email protected]
Subject: You copy my site?

Your vista tweaks do what my site does with step-by-step instructions with images. You can get away with stealing my idea but if I catch you ripping images/content your cheap blog will have problems.

Please do not reply as I do not talk to thief's. This is a warning letting you know i'm aware of what you are doing."

We were appalled to see that these people actually believe they were the first to think about making websites with step-by-step tutorials and that everybody else is just stealing from them.

First of all, we never heard about ourtweaks.com until we received this e-mail. Secondly, we are not cloning anybody. We started this website because we wanted to learn Windows Vista and at the same time share our knowledge with our readers. The idea for www.vista4beginners.com came when we first tested one of the final beta versions of Windows Vista. We noticed that a lot of things changed since XP and that many people will have trouble accommodating to the new operating system.

Before we launched vista4beginners.com we searched for websites we will have to compete with on the internet and believe me... Google did not return ourtweaks.com as a result to our searches.

I think the people sending us threats like these should focus more on the content they offer to their readers instead of sending empty threats to the people behind the websites they compete with.
