In one of our previous articles we showed you how to install new themes in Windows Vista. If you followed all the instructions and patched your system accordingly, then you should start searching for great looking Windows Vista themes. In order to help you find them more easily, I did some digging and managed to find some nice themes you might enjoy.

Sites where you can find good themes

If you search for Windows Vista themes on any search engines you might be very disappointed by the results. The only worthy site where you will find good themes is deviantART. You will find all Windows Vista themes by navigating to deviantART.com -> All Categories -> Customization -> Skins & Themes -> Windows Vista Utilities -> Visual Styles. There you will find plenty of good works made by people all over the world.

Except deviantART, there is no good repository for Windows Vista themes. You will find lots of sites which basically link you to themes posted on deviantART and which do not have any original content of their own. Out of all these sites, the only good alternative is myvistathemes.com. For each theme, this site provides a small screenshot, a short description and the direct download link. If you don't feel like searching good themes on deviantART, you might find this site to be quite useful.

Many other sites which promise great themes and wallpapers actually do not have any useful content at all. Instead, these sites try to force you to install some additional software which basically load your PC with commercials and other unwanted things. Some of the sites that do this are www.vista-skins.com and vistastyles.org. If you find them in the search results returned by search engines, I recommend you to avoid them.

Good Windows Vista Themes - Direct Download Links

Even though there are not many locations where you can find Windows Vista themes, I did manage to find some good looking ones. These are the following:

• WinVistaClub Royale Blue Theme For Windows Vista - this is the Windows Vista version of the old Royale Blue XP Theme. If you loved the XP theme, I'm sure you will enjoy its Windows Vista version as well;
• Black1 by ~piratebo - a very nice black theme. Other themes of the same author can be found here;
• Satin and Satin2 by ~Michel8170 - two great transparent themes. I actually use Satin2 on my system and I am very pleased with how it looks. Other themes of the same author can be found here;
• Media Center VS for Vista by ~Vathanx - this theme will make your Windows Vista use the same color scheme as Windows Media Center. Other themes of the same author can be found here;
• Axis.VS by ~Austin8159 - a minimalist theme with black or white backgrounds. Other themes of the same author can be found here;
• Aero Dynamic A0 by ~downtheory - another good minimalist theme. Other themes of the same author can be found here;
• Black by ~dimage - another good looking black theme. Other themes of the same author can be found here;
