Registering a program on Vista..

I recently changed my computer to a new one and it's got Vista on it... Ok..
Vista has it's issues... But this is different..

I have a program that I bought last May I re-installed it on this
machine. When I run it, I enter the reg info... Name, code, etc... and it says "thanks for
registering the program"

But the program doesn't act like it's actually registered at all!

The same "pay for the pro version" popup appears and the same
limits are placed on the program as it were the download (prepay) version...

I contacted the software developer and they gave me a link to the most recent
incarnation of the program and a new reg code... I used these, but still the
problem persists...

Now I think it's a problem with Vista not allowing the registration to take
place properly and not the fault of the software at all...

Help!

What program is that?

What program is that?

The program I'm having trouble with is...

Anvsoft Flash Photo Maker Pro V5.10

Original Software?

Are you sure this is original software? The only thing i can find on google is cracks and pirated versions.
Some cracks just don't work on Vista.

Yes original software...

The website is here:

http://www.photo-flash-maker.com/

I contacted the s/w developer and provided proof of purchase and they gave me a new version of the s/w and a new user code... I attempt to register... I enter the details and click register. The software accepts the registration information, thanks me for registering. But when I close and reload the program, it still acts as if it was not registered (putting an advert slide into the created slideshow for example). I have emailed them again and am waiting for a reply.

Might work

This might work, but no guarantees: when you launch the program, right click on its shortcut and select 'run as administrator', then register it again.
It might be that, when it registers, it tries to write some stuff which required administrative permissions and that doesn't get saved. That's because, by default, the software is run with a normal user's privileges.

Solution found: Disable UAC

Solution found on a different forum and I thought I'd share it for those reading this and wondering what the solution might be.

Ray

That is not the solution. It

That is not the solution. It is wrong to disable UAC.
