external monitor not detected under Vista

I just upgraded my Vaio VGN-TX650P to Vista for Business and proceeded to download and install all of the applicable Vista drivers from Sony's support site. Everything works fine EXCEPT one critical item, the external monitor which I use for a VGA projector for presentations. FN/F7 brings up LCD Only and SETUP, but no other choice. Neither my SONY 19 inch monitor nor my projector are discovered and can not be toggled to work using the function F7 that always worked under XP Pro. Sony Chat has been absolutely USELESS! My notebook is now a boat anchor since I use it for Presentations. Any ideas out there???

Combination of keys

To switch between displays, there is a combination of two keys that need to be pressed on your laptop.
On Dell laptops you must press the key called "Fn" + one of the F1to F12 keys which has a small monitor printed on them.
See if your Vaio has similar keys.
