The difference between photos and photos you like often depends on the tools you are using. Windows Photo Gallery is a complete photo management tool that is included in all versions of Windows Vista. It allows users to organize their pictures collection, tag them, rate them and even edit them. The editing features are pretty basic (resizing, cropping, red-eye reduction, etc) but also very useful.
In this article you will find a video showing all of Windows Photo Gallery's features and how to work with it so that you effectively manage your pictures collection.

PHOTO GALLERY
When I watch the video on this site relating to the Photo Gallery the most important fatures needed are hardly mentioned. The most important issue is to organize your photos into folders or you get complete chaos.
1. When I click "file" I get the choice to add a folder which contains pictures. This is not the most important thing one needs as we all have to start with a BLANK folder. How do we do this? Am I missing something?
2. Now we need to know where the folder is (assuming that we have managed to raise a blank folder). Would this just show under folders and how do we change the name? If I take the option under one above to raise a folder containing pictures it raises a folder with every picture imported from whatever source and with my name on the folder and this is not what I want. In other words how do I end up with a BLANK folder with a chance to give it a name of my choice.
3. Finally and the most important how do we put photos in the folder since a right click on the mouse gives us every option for a photo except a choice of folder which is the most important choice. It all seems so bizarre.
4. Could this not all be solved if there was a choice on the top bar for "ORGANIZE."
Please someone out there HELP ME!!!!

PS If I can't get a resolution then I will have to go back to Adobe Album (which was on an old computer)
New Folders to Windows photo Gallery
This is what I found: IN the file tree on the left side of the screen you of course will see FILES. Under that you will find the sub folder PICTURES. Open pictures so the contents shows on the screen. Then right click PICTURES and the pop up menu will let you create a NEW FOLDER which you can rename. These NEW FOLDERS are found in the USERS folder . It would appear that VISTA places these common /shared folders in a central place i.e. the user files. Hope this helps
Right Click
right click in the left hand tree under files anywhere and select create folder this will allow you to name it or right click the file in the tree and select rename
all files can be found in the gallery or in your main photos file user/documents/photos
click and drag photos into a file or tag in the tree to move them!!
