laptop can't wake up
Hi Benny , I have a suggestion for you to try.
First click on the start icon at the bottom left hand corner of your screen and type into the start search box :power options , now click on "power options" it will be at the top under programs, next, under perfered plans section you need to click on " change plan settings" that is under the plan that has already been selected, this plan has a blue dot on it , come down to and click on " change advanced power settings" , now you need to scroll down to "multimedia settings " in the window that has just been displayed, click on it's box to open it up , then do the same to " when sharing media "' now click on the text to the right of "setting" it is light blue ,this will high light it and you now click on the little arrow . select " allow the computer to sleep ", lastly click on ok! . This worked for me ,
I hope it can help you .
Regards . margy jr.
Sleep issue
If your Windows Vista stops responding when you resume the computer from hibernation try the Hotfix from KB928135.

I've been all over Microsoft's site and cannot seem to find this file... it seems to no longer be available.
sleep mode issues
I have a PC with Vista. It went into sleep mode the other day & when we went to use it after 1/2 hr it wouldn't wake up. We have no lights on our keyboard nor our mouse. The keyboard is plugged into the purple port on the back & the mouse is USB. We have tried everything to get this to work. We have rebooted from the power button, tried putting a disc in & rebooting, tried unplugging the mouse & keyboard and rebooting and all we get is black on our monitor(this is on & functioning properly). All of the fixes tell us to fix this in the power options area & I would love to do that IF I could get to that point on the computer. The tower powers up but does not boot. I don't know what to do. Someone PLEASE help me.
Hardware issues
If your PC & monitor are properly connected to the power outlet and they don't start then you have some hardware issues. Take your PC to a tech-support service for investigation and repairs.
hardware issues
the PC and monitor power up, they start..all lights are lit, the tower just doesn't boot the OS. The Disc drive runs but nothing happens. The computer simply will not come out of sleep mode.
Tech Support
In this case it is very likely that you have a hardware problem. Go to some PC tech-support center.
monitor wont wake up
Hi,
I have been having this trouble also. The only way i could get my monitor to wake up is to completely unplug it for 10 or so seconds, then reboot and u should have a picture. I will try the above suggestions to see if any fix this problem.
Ha! I just had the same
Ha! I just had the same problem today, put it in sleep mode last nite won't wake up....tried restarting, yada, yada, yada. Read on another forum to trun off the wireless card. I simply pressed my wireless internet card to off and pressed the power button and I was up and running. Hope this helps.
